Interior Design

Five trim levels will be offered with this model: they are
Base, XLT, Limited, Sport and Platinum. It is expected that the
Ford Explorer 2017 will feature some extensive changes. The
2017 Ford Explorer will have a new grille, front bumper, the
hood will be redesigned, new LED headlights will also be in
installed. There will be a new bumper design it the back too,
as well as LED taillights and modified pillars. Wheels choice
will be 18-inch alloys for the base models and 20-inch aluminum
for the higher trims. More luxury 5-door models, among other
things, will also feature a moonroof, HID headlights, and

All engines are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission
system. This sends power to the front wheels as standard. There
is an option for an AWD for the lower versions, and AWD is
standard on the Sport and Platinum versions. The base, XLT as
well as the Limited models will feature a 3.5-liter, the V6
unit which is capable of producing 290 hp and 255 pounds per
feet torque. The second engine will be available on the Sport
and Platinum models. The engine will remain a 3.5-liter, V6,
set to produce 365 hp and 350 pounds per feet of torque.
Motorists looking for a more budget version opt for the
2.3-liter, 4-cylinder engine which delivers 270 hp and 300
lb-ft of torque. The engine is optional for the base, XLT and
Limited models. The official EPA ratings are not out but Ford
says that the Explorer will return an estimated 22 mpg on

The release date of the new 2017 Ford Explorer is at the moment
expected to be in the Autumn of 2016.  The price of the
