Ford is bringing the 2018 Ford EcoSport in the US and Canada.
This tiny crossover is a new rival in the subcompact crossover
class with equivalents from other brands such as the Mazda
CX-3, Chevrolet Trax, Jeep Renegade, Buick Encore, Subaru
Crosstrek, etc. This crossover is Ford’s entry model to the
subcompact class in the US but it was initially built in Brazil
in 2003 where it is a huge success but this model is also very
New on the 2018 models:
The 2018 EcoSport is actually an updated version of the model
which came as the second generation EcoSport in mid-2012. The
model adds fresh styling elements and has also updated interior
for the new market. It will be available with two powertrains
and four trims will be offered.
2018 Ford EcoSport: Design
The 2018 Ford EcoSport is Fiesta-based crossover which sits on
the Fiesta B2E platform. Its styling is also very similar to
the Ford Fiesta but also shares a lot of similarities with the
Ford Escape, Ford C-max and Ford Edge. Up front, the model
includes the corporate hexagonal grille with horizontal slats.
The grille is flanked by updated headlights and bellow are
large slots for the fog lights.
The EcoSport also has sculpted body lines and swollen fender
flares. With strong lines on the hood and pronounced hood edges
the model looks very muscular. Ford will also offer this
muscular crossover in 10 body colors.
Inside, the EcoSport is fairly sporty and roomy considering its
small proportions. The interior design is somewhat modern and
strange at the same time. The model has uniquely configured
center stack and infotainment display which has position atop
the dash. There are also comfortable front seats and rear row
which folds into the floor.
Ford will offer this subcompact crossover in four trims S, SE,
SES and range-topping Titanium.
Available will be the SYNC3 infotainment system with the
8.0-inch touchscreen compatible with the Android Auto and Apple
Car Play. The system also supports voice recognition.
