features plus smooth ride and strong performance range of
engines are qualities which Ford Edge offers. This model was
fully redesigned for the 2015 model year. For the 2016 model
year Ford replaced MyFord Touch infotainment system with the
Sync 3 version while the 2017 model added the cold-weather
package. The 2018 Ford Edge, on the other hand, should
experience the mid-cycle update.
New for 2018:
An updated 2018 Edge should wear freshened styling inside and
out. The tech and safety upgrades are also certain. On the
other side, a new 9-speed transmission should replace the
six-speed unit bringing also the fuel economy improvement.
2018 Ford Edge: Styling
The current generation of the Ford Edge shares the riding gear
with the Ford Fusion and styling similarities are also obvious.
However, some design cues also draw inspiration from the BMW
and Hyundai design languages and that can be detected on

2018 Ford Edge: Performance, Fuel economy
In the engine department, the 2018 Ford Edge will likely
include the same engine choices but some improvements are
expected. The model will likely replace the six-speed
transmission with the transmission system with the nine gears
which should bring some performance and fuel economy
The base Edge version will get power from the 2.0-liter
turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This power mill will produce
around 245 hp. A non-turbocharged V-6 should again be available
with the capacity of around 280 hp.
The Sport version will get all-wheel drive system combined with
the 2.7-liter turbo V-6 which can produce 315 hp and torque of
around 350 lb-ft. The front-wheel drive will be standard on the

The arrival of the 2018 Ford Edge should be in the second half
of this year. The price will increase but not much. Expect the
