The base variant will include the Sync tech interface with

for lights, LED DRLs, dual-zone climate control, 10-way power

2018 Ford Escape: Powertrains, MPG
The new 2018 Ford Escape will likely offer the trio of engines
available on the current version, although Ford might
discontinue the base engine.
The base engine on the current model is a 2.5-liter
four-cylinder. It makes 168 horsepower and torque of 170
pound-feet. A six-speed automatic transmission will gear all
Escape models and standard will be front-wheel drive. The
all-wheel drive which can split 100 percent of power front to
rear will also be available but not with the base engine.
Among the two EcoBoost engines, the first will be a 1.5-liter
turbocharged four-cylinder unit. It can produce 179 hp and
torque of 177 lb-ft. The second turbocharged option will be a
2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It is at the top with 245
hp and 275 lb-ft of torque.
The base engine will return 24 mpg combined. Equipped with the
1.5-liter engine and front-wheel drive, Escape will earn around
30 mpg combined. With all-wheel drive it will be around 28 mpg.
The top-of-the-line engine will provide 29 mpg combined with
FWD and 27 mpg combined with AWD.
