The crossover SUV fever has influenced car industry and many
brands promise to expend their offer or introduce their first
models. The new model that has got the green light for the
production will come from British luxury carmaker Aston Martin
and will definitely redefine the boundaries in this segment.
The production will begin sometime in 2019 and model will enter
showrooms as the 2020 version. Aston Martin previewed this
model with the Aston Martin DBX SUV Concept that made premiere
at the 85th Geneva Auto Show.
This Concept version of the family car is surely one of the
sleekest and most graceful interpretations of this kind of
vehicle and we eagerly wait to see it in the production form.
The model is designed to challenge the conventional way of
thinking. The DBX Concept is two-door, four-seater with
all-wheel-drive all-electric powertrain and tons of other
innovative and attractive solutions.
Aston Martin DBX SUV Concept: Design
When it comes to the styling, the Aston Martin DBX SUV Concept
is unmistakably recognized as the product of this brand but in
the same time, the model is one of the most beautiful
interpretations of the crossover model. The model has sleek end
elegant lines and looks attractive from every angle.
A highly-stylized DBX concept has brand’s traditional grille
design up front combined with very slim LED headlights. The
bodywork is done with machined billet aluminum and milling line
finish combined with a reflective paint job for better effect.
The profile of the model has a coupe-like form with pronounced
beltline and semi-floating roofline. The rear has defined edges
and full-width taillights in the combination with the sculpted
Inside, the DBX is four-seater and offers generous cargo
capacity both in the rear and front section like Tesla’s
models. The interior is the fusion of the high-end technology
and high luxury. The leather and contrasting layers covering
interior surfaces. There are also plenty of high-tech features

Aston Martin DBX SUV Concept: Powertrain
When we mentioned new engineering techniques, we primarily
thought on Concept’s unique powertrain. The Aston Martin DBX
SUV Concept is all-electric all-wheel drive vehicle with
inboard electric motors in each wheel. The power for motors
comes from lithium-sulfur cells. The model also has carbon
ceramic brakes and a kinetic energy recovery system provides
some regenerative energy through braking.
The carmaker hasn’t said what are performance details of this
Aston Martin DBX SUV Concept: Production version
Aston Martin’s new SUV based on the Aston Martin DBX SUV
Concept will enter the production in 2019 as the 2020 model.
The production version will come with four doors and slightly
longer wheelbase. The model will inherit a lot of concept’s
expressive exterior styling but will get more conventional
cabin than concept’s. The power will come from a 4.0-liter
twin-turbo V-8 engine but also a 5.2-liter V-12.
